What it can and can't tell you

It reads what is printed on the label — the compound name and the strength — and then shows you our reference page for that compound: how it is normally stored, roughly how long it keeps once reconstituted, and the calculators for cost per dose and expiry date.

It cannot tell you whether a vial is genuine, whether its contents match the label, or how much to use. Nothing here is medical advice, and no photograph is stored on our servers.

Why bother scanning it?

Because the two things people get caught out by are both written on the vial: the strength, which decides how many doses are in there, and the date it was mixed, which decides how many of those you will actually reach. Get the strength wrong in a calculator and every number after it is wrong too.
